How to tell if you are using available tire grip
You cannot look at one peak-G number and know exactly how much grip is left. You can compare the same corner across similar laps and see whether the faster lap repeatedly uses more of the car’s measured G without giving the time back afterward.

The main idea
The data can show that one lap asked more from the car than another. It cannot tell you exactly how much was left. Use the comparison to pick a corner worth testing, then build up to it instead of jumping straight to the bigger number.
What to look at
- The G level you reach over and over, not one spike
- The same corner in similar conditions
- G-sum while the car changes from braking to turning
- Speed, line, and delta after the gap

- Remove obvious sensor spikes and bad laps
- Find the high-G range that keeps repeating
- Compare that with the corner you are studying
- See whether the faster lap uses more G and keeps the time
- Build up gradually with instruction and video
Keep in mind
Never turn a peak-G difference into “the tire has 0.2 G left.” The true limit changes with load, temperature, pressure, banking, surface, aero, and driver inputs.

Does lower G mean I should push harder?
Not automatically. The corner may be power-limited, line-limited, balance-limited, or intentionally below peak acceleration.
What is the best reference?
A clean, repeatable lap in similar conditions, ideally from an experienced driver or a proven technique.
