How to analyze corner exit and acceleration
A good exit keeps paying you all the way down the straight. Find where the car starts accelerating, then watch whether the speed keeps building cleanly or gets interrupted by a lift, correction, shift, or traction problem.

The best exit is the one that keeps building speed. Getting back to throttle early is not useful if you have to lift again two seconds later.
What to look at
- Acceleration pickup after the slowest region
- Throttle application and lifts when directly recorded
- Steering or lateral-load demand during acceleration
- Speed and delta at the end of the straight
Try this
- Align two clean laps
- Mark the first sustained acceleration
- Check for lifts, plateaus, shifts, or corrections
- Compare track-out path
- Follow the delta to the next braking zone
Keep in mind
Without a direct throttle channel, call the event acceleration pickup—not throttle application. Engine power, traction control, gear, gradient, and steering demand all affect acceleration.
FAQ
Is earlier throttle always faster?
No. An early application followed by a lift or correction can be slower than a slightly later, sustained application.
Why follow the whole straight?
Small exit-speed differences compound with time, so the true value appears after the corner.
